photoshop technique


THEME-HOW TO TURN UR IMAGES TO BNW AND RETAIN SOME OF THE COLOURS
hello again,as so u know im using photoshop element 7, it is quite not-too-advanced compared to cs3 or cs4 but it still capable of producing crispy images.So heres how you do it:)
1-Open up photoshop
2-Select ur image by double click the photoshop screen or hit the file button
3-Create a new layer background for your image .press ctrl+j
4-Select the the first layer(note that do not select the new layer) and convert it to bnw
5-Select the new bacground layer and create a new adjustment levels.this can be done by clicking the 'create new fill and adjustment button at the layers' pallete.
6-When the levels histogram appears,just click OK and by not changing any settings,the levels will appear at the pallette as a small histogram.
7-Return to the original photo that u desaturate,press ctrl+g and later click the levels histogram beneath it.
8-Now ur ready to retain the colours u want:)
9-First of all,set ur background colour to black and pick the brush tool(refer to ur tools bar)
10-Choose a suitable diameter(this depends on ur image)
11-Brush over the parts u want and TAAADAAA,ull be amazed by the results
